Stephen E. Lucas is Professor of Communication Arts and Evjue-Bascom Professor in the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin. A member of the Wisconsin Teaching Academy, Professor Lucas has received numerous teaching awards, including the University of Wisconsin Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and the National Communication Association’s Donald Ecroyd Award for Outstanding Teaching in Higher Education. His numerous pedagogical innovations have had a profound impact in the United States, China, and beyond. He is also author of The Art of Public Speaking, which is used at more than 2,000 colleges and universities around the world.
