Martin Cortazzi is a Professor of Language Studies and Intercultural Communication at University of Nottingham Ningbo, China and Honorary Professor in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick, UK. He has many years of experiences training both primary and secondary teachers, giving courses for teachers of English in different countries including in the UK, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Norway. He teaches on Masters and Doctoral programmes in Education and Applied Linguistics. His research activities and publications are wide-ranging, many with Prof Lixian Jin, including topics in language teaching and learning; culture and intercultural communication; qualitative research methods, metaphor analysis and narrative analysis; and English language teaching materials. He co-authored the teacher’s books for four levels of the New Standard College English Real Communication series: the integrated course, and listening and speaking course (FLTRP, Beijing).
